Famous for its fine dining, good shopping and lively nightlife, "The Gap", as it is commonly known, is home to the best rum shops, chic cocktail bars and day-till-dawn nightclubs and it is a place that should not be missed. Hop in a cab or rent a limo and experience it all! If you are lucky you could stumble upon one of the regular street parties that have become commonplace on this part of the island.

Barbados has a wonderful array of carnivals, street fairs, sporting events, music and cultural festivals throughout the year. Many of the cultural events bring tourists from around the world in addition to internationally acclaimed artists and local talent. Festivals such as Crop Over Festival, Holetown Festival, Oistins Fish Festival, Holder's Season, Gospelfest, Celtic Festival and the Barbados Jazz Festivals are but a few of the many that can be attended in Barbados. These festivals aim to highlight the variants in culture from many places whilst culminating to bring Barbados' culture to the fore in oneway or another.

Barbados is a limestone-coral island, which means that its beaches are made from finely ground coral, resulting in clean, soft, often pink-tinged sand. Each part of the island provides something different, the calm west coast is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, the lively south coast is great for more adventurous water sports like kite surfing, the windy east coast is a surfer’s paradise, and the north coast offers dramatic cliff views for picture-perfect picnics.

Barbados is home to some of the best duty free shopping in the Caribbean. Many luxury brands have retail outlets here that offer prices that are very competitive to major cities around the world. To take full advantage of this all you have to do is walk with your passport and departure card. Stores will show items with a local price and a duty free price for tourist which is significantly cheaper.

Nature And Wildlife
With its beautiful beaches and gorgeous landscapes, Barbados is one of the Caribbean’s most stunning islands. But there’s more to the island than sun, sea and sand. A trip to Barbados is not complete without exploring the less obvious natural beauty dotted across the island from gardens and wildlife parks to breathtaking caves.
